Self-composition - Prelude No. 1

I've decided to start working on composition in-addition-to/with my piano studies (hey, why not?). I would greatly appreciate any comments.

First thing that stands out to me is how short this is.  At only 30 seconds, I have trouble imaging you're developing your theme as much as you could.  It seems like a good start, but it's incomplete.

I agree, it doesn't seem like a complete piece, more like an opening.  I think you should develop what you have here much more, and lead it into a number of contrasting sections before you even think about finishing it off.  It's an excellent start, but unfortunately is only a start.  30 seconds just isn't long enough for a piece IMHO.

I tend to agree with the others. The sound is very good but I wanted it go on much longer.

I thought the progression was really interesting, gotta give you credit for that. It seemed a little rigid though, I would really like to hear a less "busy" section to complement the stated material.

I may be way off, here, But the timing was really inflexible, Was this recording performed on a keyboard? It sounds either Quantized or programmed in step time. If not, then you have a definite skill in holding a quarter-beat

OMG put this on a harpsichord and it would fit perfectly into a castlevania game!  And that's not an insult because I love the music from castlevania ^^  Honestly it's nice but a bit narrow in its ideas.  It really ought to have been expanded, but I still enjoyed it =)

i dont think its incomplete..after all..it is a PRELUDE..lets get off the resolution fixation people..this is how new ideas are born..or how old ideas are ressurected..i really like it...i agree on that castlevania comment...

busyness isnt always a bad thing..to me..this piece should accompany something..like a  video game..short film..animation...thats the only incompletion i feel from it...

A nifty little prelude- particularly if it's your first attempt at writing.

I really liked it, but like many others, I felt that it was too short and ended far too abruptly.
