newsletter?

I think there should be a newsletter when something new on the site is created, or registration details or something to explain the everchanging pianoforum... What do you think? Like a mailing list to all members who post... I know people might not want this so maybe there should be an option to turn it off or something... Also if when maintaining or when the forum is down, there could be a notice or something.... Also this newsletter could just inform previous posters to check on whats going on in the forums, like a reminder that there is still this wonderful community?  ;D I think you'll get a lot of knowledgable posters to post again and also share their experiences etc...:)  what do you think?
