Well, I'm off practicing for a few days...
on: July 02, 2005, 09:20:16 AM
Another one of those injuries caused by massive caffeine overdose, combined with running in the dark while blind. I predict at least 3 days without RH use (I'm typing with LH only right now, I'm so talented I'm at like 40 words per minute!). So... anyone have links to some nice, LH-only repertoire (preferably free online stuff)?

Hehe, that's probably very true.

But there's no saying you can't still be learning it even when your right hand has recovered?    :D

I can't think of anything else though... Perhaps just take a few days off completely...? Don't know how much you like the idea about that.. But it's good to have a complete rest a few days, sometimes...

Not to disappoint anyone, but my finger is almost fully recovered - I'm back to being two-handed.

Sorry!

wow three days down to two hours, that's quite a miraculous recovery, you must have quite some powers of rehabilitation.  It's probably the mulititude of prayers sent out to you by the people who read this post.  Well by Joachim anyway, maybe he's a saint, lol.

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
