Yamaha Keyboard

Ok .. I'm looking at keyboards and I really like the Yamaha DGX500, however, I'm not sure if it has weighted keys and if it would be beneficial compared to the P80. Does anyone have an opinion?? I've also concidered the Casio PS20 and the Roland PD150. Thanks for all imput.

I just got a DGX-500 and I'm really pleased with it. It's a beautiful keyboard with box style keys that a slightly weighted...not identical to a piano though. I would be more happy if it had heavier keys but that's just me. It's a great sounding keyboard with a great price. Lot's of features...one of my favorites, the multi track recording. And you can save right to a floppy disk. I recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a nice sound for a great price.

I'm sorry I can't help you with the other keyboards though...maybe someone else owns one.

Thanks for ur input. I really appreciate it. I actualy had the oppurtunity to go to a keyboard store here (im away from home) and look at the DGX500, however, I'd rather a keyboard with weighted keys. I can't find one that suits my needs. . i like the Yamaha P80 .. except then I need to worry about amps and such too!! this is soo complicated! heLP!

actually if you don't like the trouble of setting up monitors ect, yamaha p120 has build in 12 w speakers, pretty good for practice purpose. I just got one. It is nice as many people said. But I am still wish I have a real piano to practice. Does anyone here knows if it is bad for a beginner to start with a digital piano?

Ok .. so I kept looking and I went and looked at keyboards .. and now I'm looking at the Yamaha P120, P200 and P90. .. the P200 is a little out of my price  range. . but i'm considering it. any information or suggestions?

I was also thinking of buying a P80 or a P200  for practicing early in the morning or late at night, but I worry about two questions:
1. Can such a keyboard resist 4 or 5 hours a day of hard work? They're expensive for losing them quickly.
2. Is it true that the long use of earphones can damage the audition as I heard?
These 2 issues stopped me for risk the money in such an investment. Please advice me in this question.

a) yes they can take 4-5 hours a day or more of
    practice

b) yes, you can damage your hearing if you are
     wearing headphones a lot, esp. if it's 4-5 hours
       a day.

i like the piano sample in the P200 much better...
the piano sample in the P80 is kind of muddy (i think
they used less memory to record the sample). the
P200's piano samples are much more accurate
representations of the original recorded sound.
