Cesar Frank: Prelude-Fugue and Varation OP 18
on: July 07, 2005, 04:25:57 AM
I was planing to learn a piece by Frank and my first option was his
Magnum Opus
for the Piano:
Prelude- Chorale and Fugue
but it is a very difficult work in terms of memorization and technique IMO.
So i decided to learn another piece and i listened to his Op 18 and immediately i got the score . What a wonderful workˇˇˇˇˇ. It is dark, mysterious and i love the fugueˇˇˇ so beautiful ˇˇ
Do you know this piece? Have you played it? Tips?
Thanks

The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.
