I have Jeno Jando's recording, which I find much more intimate in the slow parts.  Yep, hungarians can sure play hungarian music..

Bolet's is not bad.. but I find Bolet kind of boring even though his touch is so brilliant in the high notes.

Who's recording is the best? I was wondering if there's anything out there that's better than Cziffra's.

Yes there is. Murray Perahia is THE man. His recording is AMAZING  :o
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

Katchen and Rubestein are both great recordings.

Perahia's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12 surpasses Cziffra and Kissin in excitement.

My favorite is Artur Rubinstein. Perhaia is also very good and Cziffra is always excellent in Liszt.

I agree
