A really nice story
on: July 20, 2005, 01:32:17 PM
2 weeks ago I took my children to the beach near where I live (Suffolk/Norfolk border UK). I was digging in the sand with my little girl and quite a way down I found a ring. I put it in my bag (it had obviously been there a while) and brought it home. When I looked at it properly it had the words "Sumner Academy" around the birthstone in the middle and Class of '91 around the edge with a name engraved inside. I then went on the internet to try and find whose ring it was. Joined Classmates.com and looked up Sumner Academy 1991 and there was the person!! Found out she was married and had moved to Lawrence, Kansas. Went on people search yahoo and found an address and phone number. Rang and left a message. A couple of hours later she rang back and said yes it was her ring, she has never been to England, but gave it away at her high school graduation to a boyfriend!!! Also, she had been thinking a lot about the ring lately (very freaky!). I arranged to send it back to her, and as she works for Disney she said she'd send me 4 tickets for Disneyland Paris!!

Wanted everyone to hear a really nice story and appreciate the good side of the internet  :)

Reminds me of a lesson from Jonathan Livingston Seagull.  The basic lesson is that we attract those things to us that we think about.

Wow that is spooky! What are the chances of that?

I don't think this is true because I've been thinking about Liz Hurley for years, and she has never knocked on my door and begged for a kiss.

Yes, but that may be explainable: Everyone is thinking about Liz Hurley, therefore she stays where she is, since one attraction cancels another.

You should try this with someone no one is thinking about (but then you may not like the result ;D)

I am now thinking about Mo Mowlam.

If she knocks on my door Bernhard, I hold you responsible.

Moi?

Just think of Jo Brand, then. ;D
