So everyone who has posted here so far believes that you can understand somebody just by the way they answer a list of fixed, non-situational questions?  "Personality tests" are a load of bull -- notice the way questions begin with the words "often" or "sometimes".  Who is to say that you would act as you answered in all situations -- thus personality is not tied to a straight, unchangable course.  How can you let a set of yes/no questions tell you who you are?  Bernhard's questions at least required some thought rather than choosing one or the other.  Are we so lost that we look to computers to tell us about ourselves?

I don't think anyone took it seriously. I personally found it very amusing when one of the sites told me I had the same personality type as Jesus and Ghandi.

There are WAY to many INTJs on this forum...Can't be true. I bet most of you INTJs are ENTPs who think you're shy and judging (I've met so many ENTPs who think they're shy and are the most outgoing people I've ever met). Most talented musicians are ENTPs (Mozart, Bernstein, Beethoven, Horowitz, etc. etc.). That's the brain type (or personality type) you all want to be. 

Any of you heard of Jon Niednagel. He's the guy who's turned "personality types" into a science. He's worked for a lot of sports teams successfully plugging the right types into the right positions. Anyways, he's the most right-on "typer" I've ever met. The reason being he types people from body movements (the way you walk, run, bat a ball, etc.) rather than something so subjective as personality. He and his family used to go to our church and he typed me as an ESFP. By the way, the site that typed Bill Clinton (ENTJ), Marilyn Monroe (ENFP), Leonard Bernstein (ENTP), Judy Garland (ENFP), Spencer Tracy (ENTP), and Ronald Reagan (ENTJ) etc. as ESFPs are WAY off their rocker. The only one they got right was Magic Johnson. ESFPs more run in the Elvis Presley, Charles Barkley, Dolly Parton range. UGGGGHHH. I am nothing like these people but I do share a brain type with them.

Yeah, although if you spend a lot of time practising the piano and enjoy it, you're not likely to get E when questions that decide that are stuff like whether you prefer to study or go to parties etc. The test shows a %age too, it's not as extreme E or I as the letters suggest.

But it still feels a little bit like horoscopes where there's something there in the description to match with whatever the result and it's fairly easy for anyone with an ounce of noggin to get whatever result they want.

I remember on one of these company team building things, the guy spent 20 minutes with my result [INTP] telling me how that's expected because I'm a computer programmer etc, without batting an eyelid that the room was full of computer programmers that had completely different results
