How do I post a picture on the forum
on: July 21, 2005, 05:47:58 PM
Could someone tell me how to post a picture on a forum reply.  When I hit the insert image  button I get a ()  I have try to post the picture using this format, and serveral other combinations without success.  Normally a button like this would prompt me for a path.  I hope that this is not an age related thing and that I am not either too old or too dumb to do this.

so there isn't a way to just insert a jpg or a gif file.  I can run an html link to pictures, but then what does the insert img button do other than generate ""

That is how you do it:

1. Get the picture into your computer. It will be stored as a JPEG file (or GIF, or Bitmap - JPEG uses less space, so try to get it into JPEG format).

2. Now go to this site:

photobucket.com

Once there, register. This is a site which "hosts" your picture and gives it an "address", that is the URL. The registration is free (there are other sites like this one, this just happens to be the one I use).

Once you are registered follow the instructions in the site ("browse" to get your picture, the "submit" to transfer it to the site.)

Then your picture will appear in the site, and below it there will be an "image" a sequence of letters that tell PS where your picture is. Just compy and paste it in your post and voilá! :D

Best wishes,
Bernhard.

bernhard  .... thanks for all the good info.  I was hoping that I did not have to make a HTML link but could just download the picture to the forum software.

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
