Who makes Vienna label?
on: July 14, 2003, 06:00:30 AM
We are shopping for a piano at this time, and since it is our first and we live in a small town home (it is for our daughter who takes lessons) we are looking at low-end pianos. Are considering Yamaha, Samick and Baldwin vertical pianos.
One place showed us a piano with the name "Vienna" as the label on the piano and said it was made in Sweden (although my daughter thought the salesman said Switzerland) and he claimed the spruce wood used in the piano came from the alps, which was finest quality spruce, yadda yadda...
I have purchased The Piano Book by Larry Fine and have also searched online at a number of web sites and am unable to find any information on a Vienna label piano.
Can anyone point me to the maker of this piano label so that I can get more information about it?
Thank you,
Sheila

OK, I called the piano shop back this morning, and asked them who makes the Vienna label on display in their store.
They told me it was Nordiska. So, mystery solved, I guess.
