cleaning your microwave
on: July 25, 2005, 05:23:50 AM
i know. old hat for people who clean well. but i just leave the microwave semi-dirty because i thought you had to clean it cold.
here's the trick:
saturate a sponge with the soapy water. put it in the microwave for 1 minute. steams up the microwave. wipe clean.
(why can't i think of these things?) ok. my company showed me this trick. i am eternally grateful as the microwave is often spattered and disgusting.

do you know why benches fall apart? it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them. hint: buy a bench that does not hinge. buy it for sturdiness.

doesn't make sense... theoretically it'd work with or without soap. Cuz only the water evaporates, not the soap.
At least, that's my thinking... maybe it'd be hot enough for the soap to evaporate along with it.

yes! you're probably right. i suppose a regular wet sponge would work, too. you could use the soapy sponge after it had 'steamed.'
