Collaborative Composition
on: July 25, 2005, 06:53:55 PM
Okay so i was thinking...How about we start something new to get creative juices flowing.
Someone starts off by composing a theme of a certain length. Now Interested Parties compose a short piece made out of that theme. Then we record, post, and then have a nice party discussing each other's works. Then maybe compile it. Then someone starts the ball rolling again.
The piece will be around min 2 minutes?
And must feature the piano prominently - this means Piano solo, piano with ensemble if you wish, or duets 4hand or 2handx2. or any number of pianos (8piano concerto, anyone?)
And, i guess i'd prefer the theme to be modal.
Anyway, what do you guys think? I think it could be a fun thing, if it takes off. And Maybe we can push for a composition board.
Note that i'm not actually starting it... just gathering interest:) Any ideas can be put forward to
