Feinberg sonatas recordings
on: July 29, 2005, 12:08:47 AM
I really like these, but I only managed to find poor quality recordings and not so great readings of his 1st and 2nd sonatas. Anyone know where I can buy them; better yet, just 'get' them... Amazon has squat! Thanks.

The recordings by Samaltanos et. al. is pretty good. You can hear them at Naxos. You will have to do a search for Feinberg. For some absurd reason they don't have Feinberg listed in their main composer list.

I recorded Feinberg's Sonata No.6 and at the moment working on his two Fantasies and two Suites for recording. I could post the Sonata, if you are interested.

Oh my, please do - the 6th one is a masterwork. After buying the CD the previous poster mentioned, I started work on the 1st sonata right away (hearing the music from the naxos website wasnt enough to decide, you see). I am really interested in this pianist pieces, would love to hear your fantasies and the Suite.
