If you’re in the market for a piano, be cautious of a new scam that’s targeting music lovers, businesses, schools, and churches. Could I learn this waltz?
on: August 01, 2005, 06:43:14 AM
I've been taking piano for two years, and have pretty much just been sticking to the songs that are in the books I have for my lessons.  But I'd like to do something different, I'm just not sure if I would be able to. =P

I've been listening to Waltz in B- Op. 69 No. 2 by Chopin and I am quite fond of it.  As well, it doesn't sound TERRIBLY difficult.

Last summer at this time my teacher skipped me from my about grade 1 level to grade 8 for RCM.  I've been working on grade 8 since, and actually have played practically all the songs in the Celebration Series books (the repertoire and studies for grade 8).  My teacher even made me buy the old ones so that I would have more to play! =P

So obviously I'm used to working by butt of at the piano, but I don't want to get frustrated with a piece that is really above me at the moment =P.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, Thank you =)

I've been practicing it for so long today now... time goes by way too fast, it seems everytime I look at the clock another whole hour has passed!!

After doing as you said, I've decided that it is definitely doable =)

If you can play grade 8 pieces, op 69/2 should be no problem for you. My skills are certainly below grade 8, but my teacher gave me this waltz, and I think I will master it. The tricky parts are the thirds in the Bmajor part, and the endless jumps in the left hand. So try it! Best wishes, Josef
