need help with sibelius
on: August 09, 2005, 08:45:57 PM
Hi, I have a problem concerning the music notation program 'sibelius 2'.  I am trying to make a cadenza, but there are far too many notes for one line of sheetmusic.  I have made a single bar that is 10 quarter beats long and I need to fill it with 32nd notes.  As you can imagine, it is really cramped in one line and I would like to know how to split this bar among 2 lines, OR make the notes smaller so they all fit on one line.

The "help" thing on the program is pretty useless as I cannot find any sort of help on the topic.

I would me much obliged if you would tell me if/how to split a bar among two lines OR make the notes smaller.

thanks,
donjuan

What you can do actually change the time signature for the bars and split the cadenza over the 2 staves... Then what you want to do is click the barline in the middle of those 2 bars and go to ---> Create ---> Barline ---> Invisible and it should give the impression that the bar is seperated over 2 lines of music.

OR

Go to Window ---> Keypad      and on the keypad youshould see a little semibreve rest icon under the word Keypad in the window. Select the notes you want to be grace notes and hit 'Enter' on your computer Number Keypad (on the right hand side). Hope it helps.
