Page d'album/Album Leaf (Debussy) help?

I have just recently restarted playing the piano (after about a 1 year break). I'm trying to learn Debussy's Page d'album but I'm having a lot of trouble with meaures 5-12, specifically the left hand. I have no idea how I am supposed to reach/play some of the massive intervals.

Im assuming you feel like you're expected to be able to hold the C & E while reaching down fo the A - simply use the damper pedal to hold this.
