short version of rachmaninoff b flat major prelude
on: August 17, 2005, 06:49:31 PM
today, my rachmaninoff b flat prelude performance was done without the middle section. whoaahh...  :-\

i was playing in front of several important people like the governer of x, several people's representatives, chancellors, head of police department, and God knows whom else (it will be broadcast on several national tv channels tomorrow, btw). and lemme tell you this: despite my performance was of tremendous success ( other than the crude censor ), i wish they, the audience, knew a hair more about classical music and its *clears throat* tradition. yeah, i was asked to cut the prelude short DURING the performance, as one of the organizers literally sneaked onto the stage trying to convince me into stopping it soon, while about 6 cameramen all around me were holding their camera as close as 10 inches away from both my right and left hands at some random time. hmm, this country,.....intense!

and i was glad there wasnt any kids runnin around inside the building, making all sort of noises and helpin me bang the piano while i was at it. wait, some of those camera lightings were hold up too close to my face.... hmm... not necessarily the most comfortable thing, i dare say.

amazingly well done, it sounds.  terrible treatment of pianists nowdays.  they can't just wait a few seconds?   i mean - (decides to finally buy a gun and shoot anyone who tells me to shorten my pieces)  :-[

You are officially important.  When is this going to be broadcast, and on what channels?  What was the occasion, and did you play anything besides the rachmaninov?

i saw a clip of my playing of beethoven waldstein in the news today. i played waldstein, rach g major and b flat major preludes for the event.

oh yeah, a tv company is also in the middle of making a featured profile of myself, streaming my practicing session, lunch with family, pets, etc. we went to the beach this afternoon with two cameramen following us. it was quite an enjoyable time, interestingly. after taking a quick shower ( no shooting during shower :-X ), we went straight to a nice restaurant for dinner yet with another journalist joined in for an interview. dinner was superb.

now, lying down on my belly with my computer.

do you live in pa.  are you famous?  i want to hear your waldstein (i love beethoven).  and, what in the world is a famous pianist doing on their belly at their keyboard.  does it flex your back better.  (*whispers tom1469and bob - 'copy, copy, copy' - puts keyboard on floor - cannot get up after one hour).  if we knew your name, we'd look up on the stations.
