well, this is still piano
on: August 21, 2005, 03:10:13 AM
did you know you can improve your finger dexterity by eating cheerios like a 3 years old?

did you know dry ice can harm you? important if you perform with clouds of it.  www.musicianshealth.com/environmental.htm

did you know that continuous vibrations can damage your dexterity?
www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/sawmills/vibration.html

ok. here's a question.  i had a root canal a couple of weeks ago, and that also hampered my dexterity soon afterwards.  i think it was the antibiotics.

has anyone experienced effects on the physiology of their playing by some activity?

you're funny.  80 lbs?  wow.

and, rock climbing, yes, that would do it, too.

well, i'm off to bicycle.  (likes the feeling of hands being on top of the washing machine).

Yeh 80lbs, kill a man (or girlfriend) at 200 yards.

I hope you use a nice thick cork bar tape.

Just fitted a 12-27 to my madone to help me get up the hills.

Does attempting to eat crackers with a knife and fork (without actually touching the cracker or the cracker box for than matter) count?
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Wow.  If you're riding a Trek Madone you must be into serious cycling.

I did one 10 mile time trial and just scraped in under 29 minutes.

One of the cyclists who beat me was 67.

That was the end of serious cycling for me.

I tell my cycling buddies this:  next time you're on a 6 or 8 percent uphill grade, pedal up to 14.5 mph.  Get used to the effort level.  Then imagine holding that speed on the uphill grade for 9.5 miles.  That's a Lance Armstrong time trial.
