Can someone tell me where I can get this software and how much it costs. Also, how good is it for composing? Thanks.
You either do or do not. There is no try- Yoda

It's very good. You can find all purchasing information on www.sibelius.com (what a surprise ;))

Some of my old scores are almost unreadable and covered in pencil/pen marks.

Would this product be suitable if i just wanted to re-create them??

Sibelius is pretty expensive. Better get new scores, unless you need to typeset a lot of them. And don't forget the countless hours of tedious work...

The countless hours of tedious work has put me off.

I will make do with the old ones.

Thanks for saving me £500.

Also consider Finale in your decision.  Sibelius and Finale are the two leading notation softwares.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Sibelius however is a hell of a lot easier to use and can do pretty much (more or less) everything that Finale can do. I have both of them and Sibelius is just GREAT!!!!!

thalbergmad,

You could also use the demo (dwonloadable) version if it is only for a few scores.
