Beethoven's piano sonatas are fascinating, and it is very interesting to know each other favourites, best recordings, etc etc...

But there are already tons of open posts on this subject !!!!  :P :P

Op 22, its wikid. The only thing is that the slow movement isn't great imo and that detracts from the rest. Its also really fun to play.

Op 22, its wikid. The only thing is that the slow movement isn't great imo and that detracts from the rest. Its also really fun to play.

Good choice brew, WIKID is right, it's farking hard! But the slow movement is beautiful! He hardly ever writes a melody like that, but when he does... :'(

Anyway my favorite (right now anyway, but I've felt this way for a long time) is...

Sonata in d minor op.31#2, "Tempest"

I like all of them if Im honest, but No23 and No27 stand out as two of my faves. I also like No1 Mov4, reminds me of the old silent films!

Well, maybe I should give it another go. I started learning it, got bored and skipped to the menuetto. :-\
