Hello everyone!

I'm a 22 year old aspiring piano student (total beginner) and after a few months of work and savings, finally bought my first piano and am now trying to find a good instructor in my area.  Anyone here live in/near the Lehigh Valley area and studying with a well trainined instructor?  I don't know anyone within my circle of friends/family who even knows or cares about pianos, and so far the only thing that I've been able to find though phonebooks and such are the instructors at the local music stores/piano galleries, and church, but I won't even consider that because I'd much rather find a more formal, highly qualified instructor with a college/music school degree- something like that.  I don't mean that anything less is beneath me or anything like that, I just know that learning to play is  probably a very complex thing and I'd feel better knowing that my teacher REALLY knows his/her stuff from every conceiveable angle.  I'm also willing to travel anywhere within a 65-70 mile radius of Allentown and price of hourly lesson isn't too much of a concern for me- as long as its not 100 bucks an hour ;)  in fact it would be ideal if I could do more than an hour a week for lessons, but thats just me dreaming out loud.  I think I found a possible candidate, but this person is over 70 miles away- but if worse comes to worse, I'll go with it.

Anyway, any little tidbit of information would be greatly appreciated, sorry about the long winded message, I know I'll be in this for the long haul and if I don't start soon I feel like I'll die...

Cheers

i live in collegeville.  i have a bachelor's degree.  i've taught a lot of beginners and intermediate students, and had them go on to advanced teachers after a few years.  have been working on a master's degree at west chester university.  come on over!  either to west chester or my studio.  (west chester university is going to have ALL NEW STEINWAYS in their practice rooms - in the new building!)  the teachers at west chester are great (many from julliard).  it's probably an 45 minutes to an hour to get to my house from yours, and another hour from my house to west chester university (going south).  there's probably closer colleges and teachers, but just thought i'd say my whereabouts.
