and if you're too lazy, maybe just the 3rd movement, perhaps a recording with no cuts?

here's 2 contrasting recs, first one by Boris Berezovsky and second one by Ruth Laredo. I'm by far fonder of the Laredo reading, mainly because berezovsky is just too moizt. Enjoy.

Berezovsky 37 megs

Laredo 84 megs (why this is I dunno, but download it nonetheless!)

ya i agree that berezosky releases an unusually fury-lacking performance....he almost plays it too academically...like he's trying to play a mozart sonata or something. Its still awesome.

as for Ruth she Kills it very respectable fury/speed.

and Mi-Jung Im was the first recording I had, she cuts a section out of the third movement, hoever I really like her performance a lot to wow!!

anyway thanks again.

I like Fiorentino's live recording (dec 93) of the first Sonata. I'm not very familiar with the work and hence I prefer the second (at least for now).

I voted for No.2 but at the time I hadn't heard No.1; now that I've heard it and looked at the score, I'm intrigued.  Is Howard Shelley's recording of No.1 and the 1931 version of No.2 on Hyperion any good?
