AHHH CD's Stolen
on: September 13, 2005, 04:12:42 AM
So....i had my car in my driveway...just got home from work on a nice sunday night.  I was leaving again in about 2 hours to go out so i just left my *** in my car.  I NEVER let those cd's leave my sight.  I have about 200 cd's in all.  Mostly classical..and i JUST got my 5 cd Cziffra/Liszt set.  I have been trying to collect all the Cziffra cd's...i guess im going to have to start over again.  then i have all  the Billy Joel cd's put out, and a bnch of elton john. WHO THE HELL STEALS CLASSICAL MUSIC AND BILLY JOEL?!?!?!? someone is REALLY dissapointed right now.  and IM SO FRIGGIN PISSED OFF.  Whats the best way to start a new collection?

Cheers!
Ricky

Half-price CD stores, amazon, iTunes Music Store or similar, BMG Music all have sales going on in regular intervals. If a dollar here or there is worth the time you spend to hunt down the bargains, then those are the places I would look first. Also, when I buy a new CD, the first thing I do is make a copy of it. I also have all my music on my computer. It's somewhat lower quality, but I wouldn't be able to tell with my stereo system (which is not that bad). I store the original CD's away and practically never touch them, unless I break my "working copy".

Hope that helps.

When my house was broken into my portable cd player was stolen. Amazing though it is, the thief actually took out the CD and left it behind. It was Rubinstein plays Chopin.

If i ever catch the bugger, i will give him a music lesson as well as a good beating.

He also stole my tomcat crossbow, so i might have to be a bit careful.

I never thought any thief would be interested in my classical CD's either, but sure enough they were gone, though I did also have a few QOTSA and bluegrass disks there too... Along with about $4 in change from the change dish  :'(.

They also stole my neighbours cell phone, whatever the hell you can do with a stolen cell.

I'm going to check the local pawnshops soon and buy back my CD's if they're there. Otherwise, I hope that thief is enjoying Bach and Chopin  >:(.

Theft is low. I'd like to catch one of those punks in the act.

I'm gradually putting my collection into MP3 disks.

Good for you... I started that a good 5 years ago. Brilliant.

That sucks! :( I guess there's nothing else you could do than to start over again. Maybe you could look up some good recordings at Naxos, just to get in the mood or something.

did you make a police report about it? if you did and see your stuff in a pawnshop you can show the police report and get your stuff back for free.
