picture of piano action
on: September 15, 2005, 07:53:19 PM
maybe on the steinway site there is a picture, but i want one that names all the working parts like you see in the Harvard dictionary of music (more parts that the 5-6 main parts: hammers/dampers/strings, etc). does anyone know where to find this? do some technician sites have this?

thank you both very much for the responses! in particular, i like the second one of floristan's for the purpose of printing out and teaching student the various parts of the action. floristan, that is the exact picture that i was hoping to find. also, the first, shows the process in motion (very cool) and so MUCH info. more than i could find on the internet myself. THANK YOU.
and, renner action is great too. will go back to it now and look at it more carefully. wow! you can click on parts and get a great close up of the action. that is amazing. you guys/girls are geniuses. i think this is really for me and not just my students. i end up calling more than the 5-6 known parts - 'thingys'
