Your lookin at the new!!

sunday afternoon piano entertainer at the Nordstroms shopping store in  the valley fair mall...san jose california, usa, earth, god's bellybutton


ohhhh yeah  8) got the job today..

how it happened

went to nordstroms..lady friend needed make up..makeup/accessories section is equipt with a steinway D right next to escalader...

said to myself

"will i get in trouble if i touch the piano?"

"well...i guess it couldnt hurt..and if i get thrown out..it'll give us a reason to leave"

played chopin noc 9/2

tore that shiznit up like a thug..

store manager came up and demanded me to play on sundays 12-4

she even took my info down then and there to get me in the system..i start next sunday...

 8) i'll play piano..then bust out with turntables..then breakdance..and finally recite poetry..im a one man show...

yes.  congrat's!!!  usually it's the other way around, asking for the job.  you must have played well!  now's the time to get your 'special requests' book going.  if you have a list of stuff for people to choose from, you won't get some odd number you never heard of.

HAHAHAHAHAH   Hey Husky, might as well learn "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", "Piano Man", "Anything I do, I do it for You", that Charlie Brown theme, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", and that Elton John Princess Diana funeral piece now.  Those crazy shoppers will be requesting them...  speaking from experience.

Congrats!  Do they want you to stick to classical material or do you have to play schlocky easy listening stuff too?  I haven't been in a Nordstrom's in years and can't remember what type of music the pianist usually plays.

play some of your own sh*t so when people ask you what song it is you'll say ''its mine'' then u can start selling cds and sh*t! make that money bro!

the other pianists that work at that nordstroms play jazz/blues..the manager it'll be a nice change as i play romatic/classical..mostly classical...and i can pull off a tad bit of nocturne-like improv...

Thats freakin cool husky, how much are they paying you if you don't mind?

Do all Nordstroms have pianos? I just looked up Nordstrom in my area, there are 2 within half an hour. I think I'll give them a call soon and see if they need a pianist.

i dont know my pay yet but i talked to another pianist and he said..its "surprisingly great" pay...and i'v been to many nordstroms and most of them have pianos..cosmetics accessories department
