grades
on: September 21, 2005, 09:20:31 AM
Hi there!  ;)

could anyone grade what i am playing?

Moszkowsky - etude op 72 #6
Chopin - etudes op 25 #1 #2 #7 #12
              etudes op 10 #9 and #12
Bach (WTC - book 1) - P&F  #5 #6 #9 #10 and #21
Beethoven - Moonligth sonata and sonata op 10 #1
Bartok - roumanian folk dances
Chopin - nocturnes op 27 #1 and c#minor (posth)

what other pieces do you think i should play according to my level?
i was wondering if beethoven Appassionata, Liszt concert etudes (un sospiro or la leggierezza) and chopin scherzo #2 or ballades(#1 or #4) were too difficult to me? if so, what should i play before?

thanks and sorry about my english! i m not english!

I'm really not sure about this one. I don't think you should start the pieces you have suggested. Are you playing the whole Moonlight, or just the 1st movement?

And that's right I'm back from vacation  ;D Go llama go!
Ahh llamas......is there anything they can't do?

Brahms Rhapsody in G minor, I've heard their not as difficult as the Chopin Ballades, but it's an excellent piece, and I think it's right at your level...

You don't seem to have any impressionist music, so maybe have a look at some of Debussy's preludes or images, or Ravel Miriors ( I have played a few of the preludes, but only heard the miroirs and images)

I was actually gonna mention that exact piece... xcept i find it kinda short, and would be better if paired up with another prelude...

you could do beethoven's 32 variations, some rachmaninov preludes and practically all the chopin waltzes. why not try the military polonaise as well?
You either do or do not. There is no try- Yoda
