"Some People" by Mayla Fox

Okay, this is a song (I can say that with a vocal piece, right ?) that I wrote a little over a year ago.  I had just gone through a period of thinking A LOT more in-depth about life than I ever have... heh .... and this just came out of me one day.

The piano accompaniment is minimalistic, as you will hear.  I am singing....(and playing  :P)  This is me living out one little dream... he he he... it kinda tickles.

As far as the sound quality, there is a little click that happens occasionally within the first 1'20 and goes away after that (if you just concentrate on the singing  ;), you won't think too much of the clicking)... and I put an echo on it because.. well, I love it that way AND I want to haunt you ...  ;D  (it also makes me think I singing into some great canyon or on a stage with lots of feedback... LOL)

Thanks for listening

auwm1469that's really really nice. I love the style of the melody, sounds kind of irish/celtic (which gets extra kudos in my book, I'm in love with that style).
And you have an absolutely lovely voice; care to teach me?
:)

[lau] 10:01 pm: like in 10/4 i think those little slurs everywhere are pointless for the music, but I understand if it was for improving technique

Thanks for your feedback, Mozartian.  I have actually taught a few voice lessons, and mostly, I felt exactly like I would think a fish feels when out of water.  I don't know much about how it all works and, consequently, proceeded to gain a deep respect for the vocal teachers and coaches out there whom are capable of helping people figure out what to do with themselves, ultimately allowing them to create a pleasing sound.  Perhaps if I wanted to teach it, I could, but, it is a lot of work and the things I am already doing have me feeling quite busy (and keep me on my toes).

I actually really enjoy Irish/celtic music, however, I had never thought about that as it relates to this "Some People" here.  That's an interesting consideration.

Thank you very much  :)

That's really cool, chord changes remind me of "Imagine", vox are haunting, and you really do have a beautiful voice. Muchos kudos!!

The problem is that you need Windows Media Player 10 to play it, and we have 9 (and are not running XP). Could you possibly post it as an mp3?
