i randomly dont think sorabji's msuic is worth the effort to learn it...sure i like some of it but its a BIATCHAH
I don't know the speed at which it's supposed to be played. The sheetmusic does not have a metronome marking. If anybody could tell me what the exact tempo is, I would greatly appreciate it.
Lately I've gotten the urge to learn another piece by Sorabji. I figured that the Toccata from the set of "Two Piano Pieces" (the other one is In The Hothouse) would be the best, because then I would be able to play the complete set.Unfortunately, I do not have a recording of this piece, and do not know where to aquire one (other than the Sorabji Archive, I suppose, the only problem being that the process for buying music from them seems to be a bit more involved than buying music from, say, amazon.com) and I don't know the speed at which it's supposed to be played. The sheetmusic does not have a metronome marking. If anybody could tell me what the exact tempo is, I would greatly appreciate it.- John Carey
John, you is too sl*w.
Sorabji used a metronome marking only once in his entire composing career. Michael Habermann's tempo seems perfectly reasonable.

The only music worth learning.Sorabji, is out of this world. I have never heard such amazing much. Nothing has ever moved me as his pieces have. If I were good enough I would play Sorabji 24/7
Well, it is quite uncomfortable, I'll give you that, but absolutely worth it.Perhaps...I don't know what Michael Habermann's tempo is.Thank you. I'll probably buy the music quite soon. - John Carey
so many forum members dislike Sorabji.
