My list not in any order are Ives, Beach, Chavez, and Griffes.  Among them are found some fine works for piano.

In no particular order either....

Liebermann (!), Griffes, Copland

For piano music? A few would be....

Gottschalk, Macdowell, Gershwin, Beiderbecke, Barber, Copland, Elliot Carter, Conlon Nancarrow.

For piano music, I prefer La America del Sur...Villa-Lobos, and particularly Ginastera, my favorite classical "New World" composer. HE HATH DA FUUUURRRRYYYYYY!!!!!

Gershwin, Gershwin and Gershwin :-* ;D

He's my favorite composer, although I like Copland's works too if it comes to American composers.
