The snail thread wins hands down for hilarity. Or maybe pocorina's thread.
Ahh llamas......is there anything they can't do?

Huh.

I might say that #6 could possibly be me, but I’m too unfriendly and paranoid to show my face on a public site.
I play piano, therefore I......... play piano

sorry jenni r, I think pianodaria is best female pianist on forum.  Have you seen her website -- quite an impressive repertoire and recordings.

as for male pianists, it's a tossup.  Obviously there are several, so I won't try to differentiate, but koji & orlandopiano & gaer are the only ones i have heard who could be nominated.

I also nominate pianistimo/pianonut for #9 and a competitor for  #12 (oops, yes, I mean 13.)

Some of Bob's threads are pretty funny.  Those ones where Skeptopotamous and Fred Smalls attacked vladimir dourin made me laugh too.

I nominate myself  for #10.

My leasat favorite member: sonatainfsharp, alamdv.  I think they know it too.

1 - Most Insanely Informative Thread:

In the "japface vs. spicface" thread, I informed Siberian Husky who's number 1.

don't forget Mei-ting, Robert Henry, Paul Wee, Jonathan Powell (yes he posted here before). Just a few to add to your already good nominations.

#12?  pianohopper, you mean #13.  i don't like people thinking i am trying to be anything other than what i am, a woman.  and, i'm proud of it.  btw, i always find you insightful on music, too.

i think when women try to challenge themselves, men take it as a personal attack.  it's nothing personal, really.  i mean, if i happen to wipe the floor with anyone, it certainly won't be with Tai Chi or that Wing stuff.  I couldn't even beat Thalbergmad on a bicycle.  and, my daughter is already better than me at math and english.  (glad she wasn't interested in piano).

No, my success will only be when i get really mad at myself for not getting this stupid recital memorized within my allotted time, and i start space travelling instead of focusing.  you see, i have this terrible thing about getting distracted.  now, i'm reading about debussy (all because of contrapunctus) and i can't seem to stop.  it would be ok, if i would just change majors (to musicology) - but i am in a constant battle with myself to prove once and for all that i will stand atop the mountain of fear (recitals) and dash the enemy (memory slips) in front of a gaping audience.  what is more likely, is that it will all come to nothing.  thankfully,  i also believe in God.  were it not so - i would likely learn a martial art to do myself in.  what glory is there in studying something your whole life and then be done in by it.

on my gravestone..."here lies an accomplished person.  don't know what she accomplished, but she looked very busy."

as far as nominations - i nominate most insanely informative to bernhard, lostinidlewonder, gaer, xvimbi, and actually several more others like prometheus and those that stick to topic.

most insanely hilarioius - thalbergmad - though i also consider him quite knowledgeable about piano, too.

most insanely annoying - stevie of course.  but, i find him kind of hilariously annoying now.  he's just trying to survive like the rest of us in his own way.  i think, just to surprise him, i'll vote him most sexy too - since he's always telling us about his prowess.  (i think my husband is the most sexy in reality - and stevie probably considers his girlfriend the most sexy woman)

most visited - i hope this doesn't say something bad about me - but i most visit 'anything but piano'  (runs away)

most deletable - probably anything that i said, or others say that is too critical of some really major pianist.

most sexy female pianist - i think that's mayla.  she fits my idea of what makes a woman sexy.  her singing (extra feature), her smarts, her ability to teach, her sharing of ideas, her planning parties and making things fun for kids.  i mean, she's probably good looking too, but has a lot of modesty.  and, mystery.

ok.  bouter-boogie and paris and jenni r obviously would hit the guys lists for bombs, but when women get older - they can age gracefully, right!

favorite male member - there's a lot of informative members on this forum.  it's hard to make it down to one, let alone make it a gender.  to me, gender doesn't necessarily endear me to the information (if you knwo what i mean!  and, yet, i find myself searching for thalbergmad's comments and every time he posts a pic - i look).  koji and lostinidlewonder has to be another ideal as far as a true performer.

my favorite female member - i would say the same about information.  probably mayla's questions as much as answers.  i like that she asks a lot of questions.  and, probably is a great teacher because of it   "what do you think" questions.

least favorite male/female - noone really

best supporting role in a feature length - probably siberian husky would be the main role and not supporting.  in fact he could be the sole character in a feature length - doing breakdancing, driving his car around, and then playing the piano.  showing his dogs.  he's quite a guy.  and an animal lover.

most hilariously random - bob  he's my favorite!

best male pianist:  my teacher (is he on the forum.  the oo7 picture, i presume)
best female pianist:  me  hahahhhahaah (not really) probably, hmmm i think bouter boogie is pretty good probably.
