This one is the best now, I think, and has been so for several months. Pianoworld seems to be in the doldrums just now, and I could never see the sense in separating "classical" and "non-classical" music. For somebody like me who plays both, and all sorts of things in between, it means I have to post many things twice, which is a nuisance.

All forums seem to have unfathomably few older posters compared with younger ones. This is a pity because older players have much to contribute. For some reason they don't and I haven't worked out why yet.

I find I've recieved the most honest help, with no beating around the bushes, at the Speed Demon Community forums. Ironically, for pure Comedic genius®, I often find myself on these boards.

I'm not very familiar with other forums, that's why I voted for the 2nd option.

I think this forum and Piano World forum are about equal.

It goes by streaks.  Sometimes either of these forums -- especially, any one topic area of these forums -- will have a "dead" week where little of interest is posted.

So it goes week by week as to which forum happens to have the more interesting questions and replies.

Both are good.  I'm sure not trying to disparage this one in any way ! ! !

yes but we also got polls and a whole party of free sheet music (cheers to the gold members), and we can listen to people playing etc., and most of the particularly annoying people have been banned, though i could still get rid of a few and it'd be perfect (not referring to you siberian husky cos you rock my socks :D )

Da SDC is clearly the best, we pwn all. The old Chopinfiles was possibly better, if only because there was a wider variety of personalities. The new Chopinfiles was a disaster zone. Pianoforum was also good, but pianostreet is just bad: too much petty censorship, too much religion etc.

Guezz da wat? No!

Are you aware of the fact that members of da sdc unclude Julliard and Curtis graduats, as well as a curator of the Sorabji Archive. Not to mention Libetta, the man who performed all of the Godowsky etudes in one night

If you try to look past the  8) sheet genius etc you will see a beautifull garden. I would even go so far as to say that you will finaly see Gulistan!

The 8) is the best thing about the forum
What I really despise is the emphasis on speed and the myth of athleticism at the piano at the expense of musicality, interpretation and sound technique ...

If ever I did join SDC, I have had nothing to do with it since shortly afterwards. If you have found evidence that suggests otherwise, it has not come from me. I have seen that forum, of course. That's enough for me.
