I ain't dead!!!!!
on: September 28, 2005, 01:31:27 PM
well, I started school today. I didn't have any damage to my house that I know of from Rita. My mom is going to go check it out today. Our lights are out and they say it will be 4-5 weeks before they get them back on. WOOHOO!!!! so, I am stuck at my grandma's until then. So the real question is. DID YOU MISS ME?????

LOL

I don't know you very well, but I THINK I missed you.  :) That's pretty good if a newbie noticed that you are gone. I'm still trying to make sense of everyones usernames and remember who is who. By the way, how do you pronounce your username? :)

nope. I don't know if we come from there either. Bolivar use to be our family last name, but through marriage was changed to allmon. My great-grandfather wanted to continue the name and made it our first name.

Well, I have to admit, I did miss you. The forum was a bit boring last week, seriously.

I agree. The forum's getting a little boring. Maybe it's because you weren't here for a while :P *Spare your ego ;D* Lol.

yes.  we're glad you didn't have to sink or swim and that rita wasn't as bad as katrina.  glad you are smart to leave.  i mean you'd be really mad if you were stuck in the superdome without a piano for a week or two.  and, by then, your pocket change would be gone.  much better to just get out of there and stay at grandma's.  i bet you're eating good and have gotten plenty of rest.   if your grandma is like mine was, you're probably having a good time, too.

UMMMM....superdome sounds nice right now. My grandma is a bit crazy and really mean. My gf and her family are staying at my grandma's also.  Last night she started griping and hit my gf in the back with her purse. Not sure why really. She was just sleeping there and BAM!!! it is a bit crazy. sleep, ummm....not really there either. about 6 hours of sleep a night. food is still good though.

hit her with her purse.  that is scary!  maybe you'll have to give her some kind of time frame of when you plan to leave.  maybe she's getting tired.  older people can only entertain for so long.  she sounds generous to be feeding and taking care of so many people (especially your gf AND her family)  that's a lot of people, you know!

i entertained some travelling musicians for (what i thought was to be) two days.  the weekend.  they decided they didn't want to leave for like three more days - and at the end i was trying to come up with reasons for them to leave.  like, "the trash guy comes on wednesday, and if you park in the street - they'll tow your motorhome."  was that rude?  i don't know.  they were really super good musical family, but i was tired of cooking and waiting and all that goes with it.  you just have to let people know your limits.

your grandma probably doesn't care if you alone spend a month with her.  just make sure to help her around the house - which i'm sure you do.
