Improv - September 22, 2005 - Prepared piano
on: September 29, 2005, 10:56:56 PM
I recorded a couple hours before my piano tuner came.  I wanted to have some fun on the piano before it was tuned.  Practiced my elbow and forearem technique on the keys, as well as experimented more with using sticks to hit strings and a paintbrush to brush strings inside the piano.  I also used a small sheetmetal box with objects inside to place on the bass strings - it rattled like crazy and I loved it.

My mom noticed me preparing to record and offered to shut off the washing machine.  I said nah leave it on, and even kept the door to the laundry room open.  So in the beginning you will hear faintly the washing machine, which I sort of derived my opening motif from.
