New Pianos Vs. Used Pianos
on: October 01, 2005, 07:48:18 PM
I finally got my piano I been looking for.  It took about 3 months of research and looking around.  It's a used 10 years old Yamaha, but in excellent conditon.  It seems to me excellent used condition pianos are harder to find if not pretty much becoming extinct.  I oftened wonder why people spend tremendous amount of money to buy a brand new piano.   During 3 months of research and searching, and heaps of stress,  buying a brand new piano can be a huge benefit, contrast to looking around for a excellent used or rebuilt pianos.  I have found that most used pianos are average at best and rebuilt ones are questionable.   Give your experience here. ;D

Classicarts--

You ask why anyone would buy a new piano, when good used ones are out there.

Did you ever consider that many persons are so wealthy that they could care less about saving a few thousand $$$$ ?

This is not intended as a put-down of persons with some bucks.

But I mean, if you are driving a new Lexus and living in a half-million house, may as well get a Steinway to finish the deal.

I am glad you got a good bargain, and it sounds like your piano is VERY nice.

Happy playing ! ! ! !
