“The Sound Always Comes First” — Andrea Bonatta on Teaching Liszt

Why tone matters more than speed, why reading Goethe matters as much as practising octaves, and how a single insight can transform a performance. Italian pianist and scholar Andrea Bonatta has spent decades exploring the contradictions of Franz Liszt, from performer to man of faith, virtuoso to poet. Here, in conversation with Piano Street at Liszt Utrecht 2026, he shares his vision. Read more

Franz Liszt piece
on: October 02, 2005, 12:13:42 PM
First of all: I'm new to the forums, so hello everybody.

Can anyone tell me wich piece this is from Franz Liszt? A friend of mine said the name of the song is "Grey Clouds", but I doubt that. The reason I want the name of this piece is because I'm searching sheet music for it. If it really is "Grey Clouds" then it would be very nice if someone could help me to get sheet music for this piece, cause I really can't find them.

I'm talking about this piece: https://s41.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1896QJKJCKTKW0F35EVB8G0XQN

Thanks.

Thanks stevie, that's the piece indeed and thanks to that I could find the sheet music for it too. And yes; it isn't hard to play this song, but I just love the emotion and the feeling in it.  :)

@hodi: yep, I like psytrance, that's why my nickname is like this. And I'm not from Israeli, I'm from The Netherlands.  :)
