Piano action
on: October 02, 2005, 08:45:53 PM
Hi all,

Can someone give me a description of a piano's action or point me to somewhere that would help? A diagram would be great. I have a digital piano so am sadly lacking in piano-action-related knowledge. I know the basics but I'm in need of a bit more detail.

And, for extra points, if there's anyone out there who can tell me anything about the action of the square piano, you'll have bagged yourself a devoted slave for life. :)

Cheers,
Jas

just google it, youll get many sites saying the same thing

square piano is sooooo old!  People started making them because they were cheaper to produce than harpsichords. Why do you need to know how they work?

I did google it but I can't seem to find anything simple enough! Oh well.
I know plenty about the square and its history, but there doesn't seem to be much out there on the action except vague descriptions which I don't really understand anyway.
Thanks for the links. :)
