What does LOL stand for?

Hi! This might be a little weird question  but since english is not my native language I can't figure out what does "lol" stand for?  By context I understand what it means.

Also, does IMHO stand for "In My Honest Opinion" OR "In My Humble Opinion (or both)"?

I have already figured out what HT, HS and BTW mean.  Generally I like these abbreaviations

I heard "lol" used as "Laugh On Line", and to contribute, "ttyl" is from what I gather "Talk To Ya Later", which somehow my Japanese Penpal picked up O_o

I was going to start a thread on acronyms (this is the first forum that I've been a regular contibutor to) and I saw LMAO in a recent post and I didn't know what it meant. So I found this post and I saw that this acronym was explained already.

Some are funny and some not. Some are definitely useful. We use them elsewhere in our daily lives, eg., BYOB, RSVP, etc.,

I thought it would be helpful to add some useful ones that would be searchable once someone has posted an explanation.

I'll recap some of the ones that I've come across and what I think they mean. Feel free to add a few more, although it could get too confusing if posts contain too many of these.

LOL - Laughing out loud or lots of laughs
IMO - In my opinion
IMHO - In my honest/humble opinion
WYSIWYG - What you see is what you get
TAFN - That's all for now
