Favorite Brandenburg
on: October 09, 2005, 02:47:23 AM
I am completely addicted to them; I might need to go to rehab. Anyways, since we all no that the Brandenburgs are the greatest things ever written, which one is your favorite and why?

For me, it really depends on who is performing it, I would say that the Brandenburgs offer some of the widest room for interpretation I have ever seen, thus different recordig tend to be very different.

I really like Pinnock's No.5 , but my favorite has to go to Richter's No.1.

I hate you. You just said in another post the fourth movement of franck's sonata for piano and violin was the best thing ever written. You are so stupid. I hate you.

Yes because they really mean it, and because they think that there is like 5 things that are THE best ever  ::) And because they state their tastes like facts. Wich is stupid in itself.

The first movement of the 5 has such a great theme and the harpsichord cadenza! And the 2nd movement is a complete killer but I like number 3 a lot also... hmmm
