how much rubato with spanish
on: October 09, 2005, 03:46:12 AM
i just played for an exam which included El Pelele by Granados.
im still working on it for a recital. i was wondering if there is a "right way" to treat it in terms of taking time or breathing, how much rubato am i allowed, or where should rubatos be? in places that are written in big leaps, as if i was a guitarist taking time to position my hands?
thanks, guys!

In spanish music rythym is the most important; rubato is necessary, just don't get carried away.
