definately #9. the awesome nature of this symphony is beyond normal human ability to compose. definately an unsurpassed masterwork and a delve into the romantic side of classicism - but directed at brotherhood of man instead of the normal romantic love. the timelessness of it is amazing, too. that's what makes it classic. but, then, the romantic side, as i see it, is the expansion of the symphony to include the human voice (the most romantic instrument besides piano or violin, imo) - and the numbers of human voices make us realize what angelic voices might sound like. it has an otherwordly feel. much like handel's messiah.
