Yes.  Elizabeth Jeanne Schumann (already eliminated) and Dmitri Levkovich (not eliminated).

He was sick with the flu.
People are fairly divided over whether he performed well or not; I only partially watched some of his Ballade, which seemed somewhat mechanical. However I didn't see the entirety of his performance, so I can't judge.
He received a ridiculously low score (5 out of 100) from a Japanese judge.
People are, of course, saying that his being cut out was all politics and he deserved to go on to the next round.
There are also some other pianists who were cut that people are upset about.
Whatever the case is, it would be well to note that in a competition such as this (*only* chopin's works) the strong points of each individual pianist aren't always going to show through, unless everyone's particular forte is the works of Chopin.
