I have the option of learning either Debussy's sonata for violin and piano or Stravinsky's Italian suite for violin and piano, but not both. Also, as they're both going to be extremely difficult for me since Im not an experienced pianist, I would like to play whichever one is easier (even then it would still probably take me 8 or so months to learn it). So I would just like your opinion on which piece is easier, and if any of you have recordings of either piece, it would be nice to hear them in case difficulty ceases to be a factor. I tried to find them online, but i was not able to.
Now that I think about it, it occurs to me that Debussy may have written more than one sonata for violin and piano, and I dont know which number it is, but theres a Bb and Eb in the key signature. And i think its the most famous one he wrote.
thanks in advance.
