Who saw the 13-yr-old on Letterman?
on: October 20, 2005, 01:48:06 AM
This thirteen-year-old Asian boy, "piano prodigy" Kit Armstrong was on The Late Show with David Letterman last night.  Who saw him?  I wasn't too impressed with what I saw -- it was a short composition of his own, and he seems to have good technique, but who can really judge from something he wrote for his own hands?

What did you all think?

I thought he was fantastic for a 13 year old!  His performance of the Chopin Etude Op.10 No.8 in F Major was top notch.

I didn't see his etude, I only saw the clip on the internet of him playing his own composition.  Darn, I wish I'd known!

I believe he maybe the next MOzart in the 21st century.  He's definitely a person to watch for.   Kit finished high school at the age of 7.  Finished undergraduate program in piano performance, compositin, and in science at the age of 12 ( Chapman University ) not to far from where I live.  He now currently studies with  the Royal Academy of Music and Imperial College in London, England.  He is a genius. ;D

Did anyone else think he looked about 10 (instead of 13)?

Yeah, he was mad tiny.  And he looked kinda out-of-it for a 13yr old.  But maybe all prodigies are in their own little world.
