Ok, the descending arpeggios in this piece, how would you play these? The music I have spreads them across two hands, but this seems flawed in that you have to cut the bass notes short.

Iv been playing them with this fingering so far:

Bar 5 - RH 421 421 421 LH 125

Bar 6 - RH 532 532 532 LH 152 or RH 421 421 421 LH 152

Any pointers on playing these, as Im finding this is really holding back my progress with this piece.

Yes, those fingerings would probably make it more difficult than necessary. I would try a couple of things, depending on handsize: RH 5421421 LH 21245 RH 5321321 LH 2315. This would be most effective in terms of sound I think, but you could also distribute the notes differently between hands, and that is probably easier: RH 542142131 LH 135 RH 532132132 LH 153. Or you could do some combination of these two fingerings. It seems to me your edition should already contain similiar fingerings--perhaps you need to consider buying a different edition in the future? No offense, but the fingering in this passage is pretty self-evident, and most good editions should agree.

Yeah, that second fingering seems very comfortable. Much better than mine.

The edition I have is part of a graded examination book. The fingering is VERY vague - there is no given fingering, though it suggests that the arpeggio be spread in a rather perculiar way, with the hands crossing over. I decided against this method pretty early on!

But your suggestions seem very good, and I shall have a mess around, see if I can get this passage up to scratch.

i don't really agree with the fingerings that they suggest.

my suggestion is in bar 5: RH5321 LH235 RH321 LH2
bar 6: same as bar 5

i break up the arpeggios n i use the left hand and right hand crossover method.

tell me which do u prefer.

No, I dont like the crossover method for this piece. I prefer Mrchop's fingering, works the best for me.
