Rachmaninoff's Vocalise Op. 34 No. 14 has been transcribed for piano and pretty much any other instrument. Note-wise, it shouldn't be difficult for either instrument, and it's a very accessible piece to non-musicians, but if the violinist can't get a nice singing tone out of the violin then it probably won't sound so good.

You can find Vocalise at www.Burtnco.com (the sheet music there is for order, not for download).

Not sure about any other pieces for such an early grade. "Prayer" by Ernest Bloch may have been transcribed for violin - that's similar to Vocalise in terms of textural style and difficulty - but I'm not sure where to find it if it has indeed been transcribed.
"I always make sure that the lid over the keyboard is open before I start to play." --  Artur Schnabel, after being asked for the secret of piano playing.
