30 min Recital
on: November 15, 2005, 02:52:20 PM
What do you think of this program:

Mendelssohn - Fantasy in A minor Op 16-1

Liszt - Soneto del Petrarca 123

Brahms - Intermezzo in A minor Op 76-7

Brahms - Intermezzo in A major Op 118-2

Michael Nyman - The Heart Asks Pleasure First

Encore: Louis Moreau Gottschalk - Souvenirs d'Andalousie
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

OMG do you also play Michael NYman, i remember the first time i heard it, i really really loved it, would listen to it over and over again, O yeah by the way its not an easy comp to play infront of the audience and most serious musicians will look down at you for playing it. Nice program.

the heart asks pleasure first is one of my most favourite songs
i guess it depends on who your audience is
i know every time i play it i get great comments, but then again i'm not a serious musician
good luck with it  :)

I think that program is very good, either I think that it's not good idea to play 3 cantiena pieces (Liszt and Brahms) one after another. Maybe in the middle you could put some Brahms Rapsody (op.119/4) or Ballade (118/3) instead of one Intermezzo.

But everything else is quite interesting and I like the encore very much ;)
