Two more months to the deadline for college. Here's what I want to play:

Bach Italian Concerto Mvt.1

Mozart Sonata in C minor K.457 Mvt. 1 and possibly 2

Chopin Nocturnes 55-1, 72-1, posth. in c# minor

Scriabin Etude Op.2 No.1

Debussy 'The Sunken Cathedral'

Let me hear thy thoughts.

I like your rep, some of my favorite pieces. But you need a 19th or 20th Century piece with some zip. I would replace one of the Nocturnes with an up tempo Brahms pieces, say the g minor Cappricio from op.116 or the G minor Ballade (Brahms, not Chopin) op.118 #3. Don't know how quick a learner you are, but these are short and pretty straightforward, and will perk up your program.

Yeees, I was sure someone would say that I need something less calm. 118-3 is a good suggestion. How hard is it? To give you an idea, I've been working on the Chopin 55-1 for about a month and a half, and I'm almost finished with it. (up to speed, almost note perfect, now for some tweaks in the interpreting)

I could pick up some Scriabin preludes (the early ones) (see other thread) if the Brahms doesn't fit. Would those work?

wow Rice isn't too far from me. It is a great school. Of all the schools which one would you prefer to get into?

Rice. It's the most prestigious of those four (except Oberlin) and it would probably be right for me on both the composition and performing level. On the other hand, my parents say that if I get into Oberlin, I'm going. End of story.

I'm not sure if adding another Romantic piece is a good idea, now that I've thought it over. With 3 Nocturnes and the Scriabin etude, should I really add Brahms to the program?

If your interested in composition i would take the Soiree Dans grenede of Debussy. Its a fascinating piece and about the right level and it shows musical and technical awareness and an interest in compositional forms and influences!
