Who knows Dimitri Bashkirov?

 To the best of my knowledge Bashkirov is teaching at Imola (Italy) and gives master classes during the summer in Verbier.  He's judging this year's Piano E competition.  And he plays a HELL of a Thaik 2 concerto.

Im auditioning to start taking classes with him. But, I thought he is in Royal school of music Reina Sofia in spain...

I'm pretty sure that he's in Reina Sofia.I heard him playing in Kiew,  only Beethoven's and Brahms's sonatas.If he takes you,you're a lucky guy.I know that he taught in Kiew's Conservatory,my accompanying teacher was his student.Good luck in your auditioning ;)...

Thanx, the audition is in march, but Im starting to prepare right now (Although IVe been playing the material for little more than a year and a half).... I hope he does take me. Ive heard only good things about him, especially from my current teacher.

He teaches Reina Sofia superior. and Como academy (Lieven foundation). Think possibly still connected with Moscow too but on more casual basis. He serves on virtually every important international competition panel
