problem logging in
on: November 21, 2005, 03:06:02 PM
I always have to login and type in my password twice. Why?
For a good laugh, check out my posts in the audition room, and tell me exactly how terrible they are :)

I have the same problem.  I'm 100000% certain it has nothing to do with the pianoforum.net url, with me at least.  I'm pretty sure other people have the same problem.  I posted a work-around here:
https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,12975.0.html

I deleted my cookies, logged in to pianostreet.com, when I restart my browser and revisit pianostreet.com, I'm not logged in.  If I visit this page:
https://www.pianostreet.com/amember/member.php
then go back to the forums, then I'm logged in.  I haven't visited "pianoforum.net" in ages.

It's not a big deal, but it is a bug with something.  I'm using the latest IE and don't have any weird configuration or anything.

That is not exactly the same problem.
What ahmedito describes is probably the issue when you enter this site via the pianoforum.net domain and go to the login page. When you submit the login form you are not logged in but immediately get another form (on pianostreet.com)  that will get you logged in.
I will fix this by hardcoding the domain on the login form.

Stolzing's problem is different. If you have checked the "Remember my login" on the login form you will have a cookie that automatically gets you logged in when you visit the member.php or login.php pages.
It works as expected but may be a bit confusing. I will try to fix it in the future.

logging into pianostreet fixed it, but 3 years of logging into pianoforum die hard.

Check the privacy settings in your browser. It might help to set it to one or two steps lower.
