prepared?  how can i prepare?  i called three cleaning ladies.  one was too expensive, the second was booked up, and the third promised to come last monday.  i waited all day with bated breath - putting in a couple of loads of laundry in hopes that she might pull them out of the dryer.  no call.  just no show.  the nerve of cleaning ladies these days!

so, here i sit amongst (well, there was a little vaccuming done, and a few minor incidents of cleanliness) a semi-mess.  my husband, however, has decided to brine a turkey tonight.  he says that apple juice, syrup, soy sauce, and cloves should do the trick.  i've never had a brined turkey, so i'm curious how this will all turn out.

how about you, thalbergmad?  brit's don't really do thankgiving do they?

you know, i'm impressed how much music you have.  you are a regular music librarian, if you ask me.  seems that whenever somebody wants a piece of music, you've got it.  i wish i knew what i wanted.  but, then of course, you'd say that all i'm only nice when i want something.

hope you have a great weekend!

Sorry to hear about trouble with the domestics. Just can't get the staff nowadays.

Us Brits don't do thanksgiving. I am glad of this as I hate Turkey.

As for the sheet music collection, i am not a librarian, just a leech. I have copied every single site i have ever visited. Of course my entire collection is at your disposal.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

i understand about the dislike of turkey.  i kind of feel bad for them.  especially if they are fast grown.  free-range turkey and chicken have a different taste, i think, but still if you are not fond of the taste anyway - it probably doesn't make a dif.

having a big selection of music is nice.  i noticed that my teacher had a glass enclosed (possibly custom made) cabinet with about three shelves of regular music book size (larger size).  seems that those music drawers that you can order fit 8  1/2x11 sheet music better.  i have mine in file folders, but can't find anything when i want.  must re-organize my music.

i tried laminating a bunch of our old sheet music that was starting to get torn up.  it helps a lot when playing, too, because it doesn't fly off the piano in a minor breeze.

thalbergmad, i think of you every time i watch jakers on piggly-winks with my daughter.  it's a new show where allt he characters speak with a british accent and play games around castles pretending that they are back in the days of the knights.  somehow, with all the pics you take of the surrounding countrysides, and probably old castles scattered here and there - i think that is quite a pastoral musical setting.

thanks for the offer of so much music to choose from.  want to take organ lessons next so i can just let the right foot relax for a few months and let the left foot take most of the pedalling.  i used to go to the wcu music library all the time, but i can't drive yet (most frustrating) so if i suddenly need something, i'll check with you.  my leg feels like a pirate's wooden leg.  it's healing ok, it's just that my foot is kinda floppy yet.  it doesn't do what i tell it.  it is a very strange feeling to have a floppy foot.  espcially playing the piano - since i have to pedal with the left foot.  my left foot is becoming quite adept, though.
